Project Launch
EM Universal Village in Kitanakagusuku is a project undertaken by EM Research Organization (EMRO) as the first and second phases of “Creating a Village of Health and Welfare Utilizing Agriculture” promoted by the Kitanakagusuku Village in Okinawa.
「北中城村EMユニバーサルビレッジ」とは、沖縄県北中城村が推進する「農を活かした健康・福祉の里づくり」の第1期、第2期整備事業として(株)EM研究機構が取り組んでいるプロジェクトです。

The “EM Universal Village Project” that EMRO is engaged in is inspired by the concept of “Universal Village ~a desired future society which provides their residents with sustainable happiness~” proposed by Dr. Ichiro Masaki of MIT.
We value the spirit of “cooperation” rather than “competition” and are working to recycle urban organic waste by applying EM Technology and expertise from diverse industrial fields.
Through this project, we aim to realize a new model for treating urban organic waste and share its information with the world.
We are proud of this initiative and aspire to share it with people worldwide. Furthermore, we believe that spreading this initiative will contribute to addressing diverse challenges.
Our world is constantly evolving. New issues are arising while unknown possibilities are expanding.
Together, hand in hand, we can forge a path to the future.
私たちEM研究機構が取り組んでいる「EMユニバーサルビレッジプロジェクト」は、MITの正木一郎教授の提唱した「ユニバーサルビレッジ(UV)～地球環境と生物多様性の保全、および人類の持続可能な発展を可能とする未来型社会～」の考えに着想を得ています。
「競争」ではなく「協力」の精神を大切にし、EM技術の応用と多様な産業分野の専門知識を結集し、都市の有機性廃棄物のリサイクルに取り組んでいます。
このプロジェクトを通じて、都市の有機性廃棄物の新しい処理モデルを実現し、その情報を公開していく予定です。
私たちはこの取り組みに誇りを持ち、世界中の方々と共有したいと考えています。またこの取り組みを広めることが多くの問題解決につながると信じています。
私たちの世界は常に進化しています。 新たな問題が生じる一方で、未知の可能性も広がっています。

What is
BioCycle Center?
ビオサイクルセンターとは？
One of the facilities to be implemented in the project is the BioCycle Center, designed to produce biogas power and convert the organic waste generated from the power generation into organic fertilizer.
The electricity and the fertilizer produced will be utilized or sold within the composite facilities, including the ICT agricultural greenhouses.
The facility is now under construction and is scheduled to be completed in October 2024 and operational in April 2025.
本プロジェクトで実施する複合施設の1つが、バイオガス発電と発電に伴う廃棄物の肥料化を行うビオサイクルセンターです。
発電した電気や肥料は、ICT農業ハウスなど複合施設内で消費または販売されます。
造成工事は順調に進行中であり、予定では2024年の10月に施設の完成を迎え、試運転を行う予定です。そして2025年4月には運用を開始する予定です。
In this project, in addition to the BioCycle Center, there are plans to develop facilities such as ICT agricultural greenhouses, a children’s farm, a farmers’ market, an agro-processing facility, and a café.
このプロジェクトでは、ビオサイクルセンターに加えて、ICT農業ハウス、学童農園、農産物直売所、食品加工施設、カフェなどの施設を整備する計画があります。

Thoughts Behind
the Whale Sharks
ジンベエザメに込めた想い
The whale shark, which inhabits tropical and subtropical seas, is considered one of the most representative animals of Okinawa, as it is found in the waters near Okinawa, Japan.
Due to environmental issues, it was listed as an endangered species on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List in 2000.
We chose whale sharks as the subject of this original NFT art because they are a perfect fit for this project, which aims to create an environmentally conscious and nature-rich world.
熱帯や亜熱帯の海に生息するジンベイザメは、日本だと沖縄近海に生息していることから、沖縄を代表する動物の一種です。
環境問題により、2000年に絶滅危惧種としてIUCN（国際自然保護連合）のレッドリストに登録されました。
環境を守り自然豊かな世界を目指すこのプロジェクトのモチーフとしてピッタリだと思い、オリジナルNFTアートの題材となりました。
